Salary:

Starting £24,520 + £2,880 (average of 6 sleeping shifts per month) = £27,400 pa  

To    

£28,880 + £2,880 (average of 6 sleeping shifts per month) = £31,680 pa

+ Paid Training + Optional Overtime

You will be responsible for working as part of a team to provide support, nurturing, understanding and a positive role model for the children and young people placed in our Children’s Homes. Each home has 2 – 3 children and are aged between 11 – 17 years old. You will be able to understand their trauma, help them through the difficult times and celebrate with them the good times. You will be responsible for recording, attending meetings ad adhering to the policies and procedures within the Home. You will need to engage with children and young people and above all inspire them to reach their full potential by listening to them, engaging them in activities and helping them excel in their education.

This role can be challenging at the hardest of times but extremely rewarding at the best of times.

Job Purpose:

To take accountability and work proactively with the team to help children and young people achieve their full potential and promote their welfare.

To assist the Manager/Deputy to lead and manage the children’s home consistent with the approach and ethos of the organisation, delivering outcomes and high-quality care as set out in the Home’s

Person Requirements:

· At least two years’ experience in working with children/young people

· Minimum one-year at a senior level within a children’s home setting

· Experience of managing staff team

· Experience of working with children with challenging behaviours

· Have completed NVQ Level 4 in Residential Childcare or equivalent

· Excellent communication and written skills

· Have the ability to develop good working relations with the team, professionals and the young people

Additional Requirements:

· Due to the nature of this role, you must be 25+ to apply

· A Full Driving Licence

· Willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS Check

· If you have lived or worked abroad for over 1 month you must be able to provide an official record/certificate/letter - which confirms you have undergone an Overseas (Criminality) check

Salary: £20,000 to £25,000 (depending on experience) + £40 per sleeping shift on top of salary + Overtime Hours offered + Paid for training

We have a fair and attractive developmental plan in place where salary increments are received upon satisfactory probationary period, annual appraisal and upon starting or completion of training.

 

We are committed to staff development and those who show an interest in management and leadership, we will pay for and provide relevant training.

 

The role entails working on a shift rota, and may be required to undertake night duties as part of a regular pattern of work for which you will receive additional remuneration.
